Abstract
Tank tests were carried out using a ship model to capture the low speed maneuvering characteristics with respect to clabbing , pivoting turn and clamshell backing of a ship with VbcTwin rudder system . Captive model test was conducted to capture the hydrodynamic force characteristics when the ship speed is zero . Based on the test results , we determined two rudder angle combinations to realize the low speed maneuvering . In free running model tests , we confirmed the clabbing and pivoting turn by combination of starboard rudder angle 105 ° , port rudder angle − 65 ° and bow thruster operatiQn 、 The clamshell backing was also confirmed by 土 105 ° for both port and starboard rudder angles . Thus , we found that the ship with V6cTwin rudder system has good ma 皿 euverability in low speed , Keywords ' Vec 7 ' win rudder , low speed maneuvering , clabbing , pivoting tuTn , clamsheU backing キ
