Abstract

The lattice consts. of phthalic acid are: a 5.00, b 14.2, c 9.60 A., β93.5; space group C2/c, Z = 4 mols. per unit cell. By means of a Patterson projection and of Harker-Kasper inequalities Fourier projections could be obtained, which show intermol. H bonds between adjacent carbonyl groups across a center of symmetry of 2.67 0.05 A. length.
