Abstract

Interpersonal communication is the process of sending messages from one person to another with the effect of direct feedback. This context leads to the communication of the former conducting coaching with the Tablighi Jamaat. This study aims to determine the interpersonal communication process for former Narcotics Class II A Bandar Lampung who followed the coaching with the Tablighi Jamaat. This research uses descriptive qualitative theory of interpersonal communication of Joseph De Vito with a phenomenological approach. Methods of data collection using interviews, observation, and documentation. Sources of data obtained from primary and secondary data. Data analysis techniques through data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The informants in this study were former trainees with the Tablighi Jamaat which were taken through purposive sampling technique. The results of the study stated that former researchers showed the following things: (i) open communication emerged from the activity of asking and answering a problem (openness), (ii) having a mutual sense of fate and helping each other with sesame (Empathy), (iii) support and acceptance by the family (Supportiveness), (iv) positive attitude by taking wisdom and learning (Positiveness). Results Based on research, ex-ex are able to continue life in a better way. Thus, the importance of coaching the former as self-control and self-actualization of his life.
