Abstract

This work presents a review of information, in which the PMBOK Guide is described and defined, as well as the Project Management Institute (PMI), which is the organization that promotes it. Similarly, it describes how this guide has evolved over time from its fifth to seventh editions. The world-class certifications provided by this organization are also rescued, being the PMP®, Professional in Project Management, the most recognized. Likewise, it mentions the way in which this guide and its certification is applied within project management. This review has the purpose of giving people, organizations, companies and all those involved in project management, a consultation and reference tool that they can take into account for each of the projects in which they have been performing.
