Abstract

Introduction: Physical Education teacher role is determinant on pupils' motivation through the using of several strategies to satisfy their basics psychoogical needs, apart from teachers are not used to give importance on contents related with Corporal Expression because of their methodological difficulties to carry out. So this work aims to adapt and validate the Basic Psychological Needs Scale to the block of contents of "Corporal Expression" in Physical Education. Method. Participants were 346 pupils belonged to 3 rd and 4 th course of Secondary School and 1 st of High School from different schools of Extremadura Autonomous Community. Data collected was carried out in scholar time, offering them the instructions and telling them that their responses would remain strictly confidential. Psychometrics properties of the instrument through confirmatory analysis, reliability analysis and criteria validity analysis were analyzed. Results: Results showed an adequate factorial structure, internal consistency and criterial validiy of the questionnaire. Thus, questionnaire adaptation was validity and reliable, and so, it may be used to assess teacher support to the necessity of competence, autonomy and relatedness in Corporal Expression classes in Physical Education. Discussion or Conclusion: The development questionnaire is very effective to provide a specific instrument that helps to know the social factors that might influence on motivational processes and the enjoyment through Corporal Expression classes in Physical Education. © Education & Psychology I+D+i and Editorial EOS (Spain).
