Students’ Spatial Ability After the Covid-19 Pandemic

Abstract

Learning during the Covid-19 pandemic took place online (on a network) for approximately 2 years, causing difficulties for students in learning, especially in geometry material. In learning geometry, spatial ability is needed. This is because, spatial ability is the ability to produce, maintain, retrieve and change visual images so that they are well structured. This study aims to determine the spatial ability of students after the covid-19 pandemic. The method used is descriptive quantitative research.The subjects in this study were junior high school students from several areaas as many as 50 people, namely from Pagedangan, Cilegon, Rambang Kuang, Pemulutan, Tungkal Jaya and Air Salek areas. Data collection techniques used tests and interviews. The results showed that there were 14% of students’ spatial abilities in the high category, 50% of the students’ spatial abilities in the medium category, and 36% of the students’ spatial abilities in the low category. So that in the learning process, educators must repeat learning materials in the form of facts, concepts, principles and procedures.
