Abstract

Building information modeling (BIM) is one of the most promising developments. It has become a significant area of endeavor in the engineering, construction, and can be used for planning and construction. The models generated from BIM are being used for analysis and design of buildings and other infrastructure. It helps engineers visualize what is to be built in a simulated environment to identify any potential design, construction, or operational issues. Also, the ability to analysis cost and schedule data in the design process makes BIM a very useful tool. The findings of this study provide useful information for people considering implementing BIM technology in their projects. In this paper, introduction, benefits, and future challenges of BIM are discussed.
