Abstract
The article presents interviews with Tom MacTavish, Anijo Mathew and Kim Erwin three professors from the Institute of Design at the Illinois Institute of Technology. When asked what people need to know about ethnography, MacTavish says that ethnography is not what is used in design. Mathew comments on the use of prototypes. Erwin believes that many innovative design ideas are rejected by the people who need them most.
