Abstract

Non-invasive study of a 19 year old man, who sustained severe electric current injury, showed electrocardiographic and enzymatic changes simulating acute myocardial infarction. Serial echocardiographic examinations showed reversible global left ventricular dysfunction attributed to extensive myocardial injury which resolved within a few days. Clinical, electrocardiographic, and echocardiographic follow-up, after one year, showed no cardiac abnormalities.
