Abstract

By referring to Qur'an, the science of history can be used as the main tool to explorer the phenomenon of society development. Based on this theory, this study will use a critical analysis made on Malaysian historical sources. As a result, the study found three main factors that shaped the history of Malaysia. These three factors include pre-Islamic Malay beliefs; the impact of Islam in society and the influence of British colonialism. It turns out that these three influences influence each other and it remains dominant until today.
