Abstract

Based on the development trajectory of human society, this paper presents a concept of ecological civilization, which is a civilization pattern that can provide and ensure sustainable welfare for people while maintaining and improving ecosystem services. In fact, ecological civilization is a civilization pattern that can realize sustainable development. In view of this definition, this paper explains the connotation of ecological civilization, explores the construction of different elements for an ecological civilization, and outlines the necessary system for ecological civilization development. It also designs a basic framework and a meliorization model framework for the assessment of ecological civilization.
