Abstract

This study validates the Emotional Competence Questionnaire (ECQ) in five Latin American countries (Peru, Mexico, Ecuador, Paraguay, and Colombia) using a multi-method psychometric protocol. To ensure cultural sensitivity, structural validity, and methodological rigor, three complementary approaches were integrated: Confirmatory Factor Analysis, Rasch modeling, and Exploratory Graph Analysis. This protocol provides a reproducible framework for evaluating psychological instruments across cultures, balancing theoretical alignment with empirical evidence. The results highlight both the strengths and areas for refinement of the ECQ, offering practical guidance for future cross-cultural adaptations.
