Abstract

In the paper, logical and methodological foundations of teaching and learning Humanities in the system of higher education in contemporary Russia are discussed through the personal example of the author teaching such courses as “Philosophy”, “History of Philosophy”, “History and Philosophy of Science”, “The Basics of Decision Making”, “Analytics of the Professional Texts”, “Communication Management”, “Psychologism and Anti-psychologism as Logical and Cultural Dominants of the Epoch”, etc. The significance of the Methodology of the Expert Text Analysis (META) for the problems of education is shown in the article. It is pointed out that practical work within certain disciplines provides an opportunity not only to identify logical and methodological foundations of the relevant disciplines but also to develop students’ critical thinking, their reflexive capability, comprehension of the specifics of scientific and practical activities, and show the existence of theoretical framework of any practical approach to the scientific research. The term is explored in the paper as a logical text analytics tool, the development of the theory behind the term is traced from the ancient times until today, and particularities of the modern interpretations of the term are reviewed. It is shown that students’ work on the META platform helps them to enhace their listening skills, assess expressed points of view at a professional level, fulfill the role of an expert and formulate their own conclusions independently, or when working in a team. The article discusses the different stages of text analysis and the specifics of developing a strategy for organizing a group collaboration.
