Abstract

Collection data and comments on the distribution of 83 species of New Zealand mosses are presented. Some species are recorded for the second time only whereas others are new records for either the North or South Islands. Northern or southern records are presented for many species as a result of extensive collecting in areas of little or no previous bryological attention such as North Auckland; the Kaimanawa. Kaweka. and Ruahine ranges; North-west Nelson; Marlborough; Westland; and Fiordland. © 1985 Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.
