Abstract
The Recreational Sports, one of the proposals of project called "Corporal Culture, Sports and Leisure in the Complexo do Alemao", was applied by the co-author of this article to the Grota Community and has the following goals: identify 7 to 12 years-old children who were away from school, develop fundamental basics of collective sports modalities besides artistic gymnastic throughout a one-hour session, five times a week, with a focus on recreation, and develop bimonthly educational themes to obtain children better behavior. Results: sixteen project participants who were out of school were sent to 4a CRE, parents attributed their children attitudes improvement to the project intervention, and the presence of less skilled children were valued in the group over different classes moments. Conclusion: The Physical Education intervention allows young risk-area residents to develop their potentials and to minimize their possible problems in their search for new ideals of life.
