Abstract
Previous estimates of the health effects caused by routine emissions from the nuclear power industry have ignored some of the more important isotopes and inadequate consideration has been given to the persistence of radioactive pollutants. The need to determine the buildup of long-lived radioactive pollutants in the environment is demonstrated with the aid of two examples.
