Abstract

The pulsar MP. 0031-07 exhibits a complex pattern of phase modulation which causes the peaks of successive pulses to drift systematically across the average pulse window. The drifting phenomenon generally assumes one of three distinct modes. Remarkably similar behavior has been observed in the emission from CP 0808+74. These observations place some useful limits on the range of possible pulsar models.
