Abstract

Vibration and noise control has become one of the major concerns for the modern transport industry. Plates have numerous applications in engineering and are the main structures of vehicle cabins. To obtain a better acoustical environment of vehicles, an important work is about reducing the vibration and noise of the plates. In the past decades, various control techniques for vibration and noise of plates are studied. Parts of them have been widely applied. To date, the research on this topic still receives much attenuation. Several typical vibration and noise control techniques for the plate structures are summarized firstly, including the design and optimization of structural parameters, utilizing dynamic absorber, vibration isolation mass, active noise control, active vibration control and active structural acoustic control and so on. In addition, a new control technique based on artificial periodic design is also introduced. Some ideas for the academic research and engineering application of vibration and noise control can be found.
