Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kualitas fisik dan nilai pH silase pakan komplit berbahan dasar jerami jagung (Zea mays) dengan penambahan Azolla (Azolla pinnata) sebagai pakan ternak ruminansia. Menggunakan metode rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) dengan empat perlakuan dan tiga ulangan. S1 (jerami jagung 50% + azolla 30% + pakan tambahan 20%), S2 (jerami jagung 50% + azolla 25% + pakan tambahan 25%), S3 (jerami jagung 50% + azolla 20% + pakan tambahan 30%) dan S4 (jerami jagung 50% + azolla 15% + pakan tambahan 35%). Hasil Sidik ragam menunjukkan bahwa silase pakan komplit berbahan dasar jerami jagung dengan penambahan azolla sebagai pakan ternak ruminansia tidak berpengaruh nyata (P>0.05) terhadap warna, jamur, aroma dan tekstur (kualitas fisik) dan pH. Disimpulkan bahwa penambahan azolla (Azolla pinnata) pada level yang berbeda terhadap silase pakan komplit berbahan berbahan dasar jerami jagung (Zea mays) tidak berpengaruh terhadap pH dan kualitas fisik silase. Hasil terbaik diperoleh pada perlakuan S1 dengan penambahan azolla sebanyak 25%. This study aims to determine the physical quality and pH value of complete feed silage made from corn straw (Zea mays) with the addition of azolla (Azolla pinnata) as ruminant feed. Using a completely randomized design (CRD) method with four treatments and three replications. S1 (corn straw 50% + azolla 30% + additional feed 20%), S2 (corn straw 50% + azolla 25% + supplementary feed 25%), S3 (corn straw 50% + azolla 20% + supplementary feed 30%), and S4 (Corn Straw 50% + Azolla 15% + Additional Feed 35%). The results of the variance test showed that complete feed silage made from corn straw with the addition of azolla as ruminant feed had no significant effect (P>0.05) on color, mold, scent and texture (physical quality) and pH. It was concluded that the addition of azolla (Azolla pinnata) at different levels to complete feed silage made from corn straw (Zea mays) did not affect the pH and physical quality of silage. The best treatment in S1 with the addition of azolla as much as 25%
