Studies in many countries, as part of the project Rose, evaluated the interest of the students in science subjects. In general, it has been found that topics related to astronomy, astrophysics and cosmology were considered very interesting by students in school years. It is even more remarkable that this interest does not depend on gender. Then, initiatives to stimulate the interest for Physics and Mathematics should involve the subjects in question. This article presents interesting topics of these three areas, with more emphasis on cosmology, and aims to give an orientation to the teacher. © by the Sociedade Brasileira de Física.
