Abstract

River water pollution due to domestic waste has become an urgent environmental issue in urban areas, including the Oongan Dam River in Denpasar. The lack of public awareness in managing organic waste encourages the need for an educational approach and collaborative ecological actions. This community service activity aims to raise awareness and skills among residents in utilizing organic waste through training in the production and application of ecoenzyme as an effort to reduce water pollution. The methods used are a combination of community education, practice-based training, and the diffusion of science and technology, with a participatory strategy through collaboration between the service team, the Eco Enzyme Nusantara community, and residents. Activities include training in eco-enzyme production, environmental outreach, and pouring actions at strategic points along the river. The results of the community service showed a 90% increase in residents' understanding of the concept and benefits of Eco Enzyme, as well as the formation of three independent Eco Enzyme processing groups. The pouring action also had a positive visual impact on the condition of the river water. These findings indicate that community-based collaborative strategies are effective in responding to water pollution sustainably.
