Abstract

In this work, UWB planer monopole antennas with partial ground plane are designed, fabricated and presented. The substrate of the designed antennas are made from different types of substrate fabric materials (flannel and jeans) while the radiating element and ground plane are made from copper selfadhesive sheet. The operating frequency of the current manuscript designs spans from 2 GHz up to 15 GHz. Measured results are compared with simulations and good agreement was observed. Results indicated the suitability of using flexible fabric materials for wearable applications instead of rigid substrate board materials. © 2012 Penerbit UTM Press.
