Abstract
Abstract:The year 2018 was a key time for the feminist movement around the world. In Chile, feminist students transformed into a purple wave that took to the streets and took on institutions to fight for non-sexist education and put an end to sexual harassment against women. This article proposes that the movement has both historical and global foundations that are configured in parallel to the demands voiced in the streets. It also hypothesizes that this movement represents the fourth wave of feminism. This study applies a qualitative methodology based on in-depth interviews with feminist activists and the analysis of secondary sources.
