Abstract

The chemiluminescence time-courses of various polymer materials under heating in air or inert gas were observed and simulated on the basis of kinetic analysis. Chemiluminescence parameters, such as peak-top intensity, integrated intensity during measurement, steady state intensity, and chemiluminescence decay rate, were found to strongly correlate with the stability of polymer materials, judging from correspondence with the results of durability tests on the same materials. The relationship between the chemiluminescence and the structural characteristics of the polymer was also investigated. © 1990, The Society of Polymer Science, Japan. All rights reserved.
