Abstract
This article presents the conceptual bases for the politics on health professional education that was developed by the Brazilian Ministry of Health between January 2003 and July 2005. To do so, the authors present a synthetical overview on the Brazilian National System (SUS - Unified Health System) construction and the main challenges for its consolidation, among which the changes in the ways of producing health policies and practices. They also present a discussion about the conceptual building of Permanent Education in Health and a debate about the nature of the work in health and its technological composition, as well as the institutional dynamics involved In its production, bringing the plan of the micropolitics as an essential element for the understanding and changing of health practices.
