A grandeza quantidade de matéria e sua unidade, o mol: algumas considerações sobre dificuldades de ensino e aprendizagem

Abstract

O presente artigo trata de algumas questões que podem constituir-se em dificuldades para a compreensão dos conceitos de quantidade de matéria e de mol pelos estudantes de Química. Busca ainda resgatar, em termos históricos, a origem do conceito de quantidade de matéria, apresentando o contexto em que este surge em interação com outros conceitos, reiterando a necessidade de que haja uma compreensão por parte de professores e alunos dos conceitos científicos em amplo espectro, não limitados apenas a definições.The present paper deals with some questions that can cause difficulties for the understanding of the concepts of amount of substance and the mol by Chemistry students. The paper also seeks to investigate, historically, the origin of the concept of amount of substance, presenting the context in which this concept occurs in interaction with other concepts, stressing the need for teachers and pupils to understand the scientific concepts thoroughly, not being limited only to definitions.
