Abstract
Intraperitoneal bupivacaine has been shown to have a variable effect on pain relief following laparoscopic Cholecystectomy. This article reviews the role of Intraperitoneal bupivacaine in laparoscopic Cholecystectomy. Twenty randomized controlled trials, taken from Pubmed were included in the study and the results were analysed. No significant side effects were noted by this mode of bupivacaine administration. We conclude that intraperitoneal bupivacaine in laparoscopic cholecystectomy has detectable benefits.
