Abstract
Hypertension is an abnormal increase in blood pressure in the arteries continuously over a period. Hypertension has become a public health problem and will become a bigger problem if it is not tackled early on. Slow deep breathing is a non-pharmacological modality that can lead to increased baroreflex sensitivity and reduced sympathetic activity and chemoreflex activation, which shows a potentially beneficial effect in hypertension. The objective of this activity is to improve community skills in hypertension management with slow deep breathing exercises. The methods used in this community service are health education and slow deep breathing exercise demonstrations. The target of this activity is 12 people with hypertension in Pesanggrahan Village. The result of this activity is to increase the knowledge and skills of hypertensive sufferers about hypertension management using slow deep breathing exercises.
