Abstract
Thus, pharmacotherapy with patients with BPD is a challenging process not much informed by research evidence. Psychosocial treatments have been shown to be efficacious for this population but are rarely available. Making pharmacotherapy secondary to the search for efficacious psychosocial treatment is often a burden for the pharmacotherapist. However, a long search can pay off handsomely if the patient's symptoms become stabilized and the patient succeeds in pursuing life-long goals.
