Em terras de caboclos, waimahsã e seres outros-que-humanos: por uma perspectiva afroindígena na cidade de Manaus

Abstract

Resumo Ao trabalhar com dois diferentes coletivos da cidade de Manaus, o Bahserikowi - Centro de Medicina Indígena e o Centro de Umbanda Caboclo Ventania a categoria “afroindígena” emerge como conceito chave para pensar elementos importantes que constituem esse território. Para o recorte empírico deste artigo, busquei centralizar a discussão e reflexão nos sabres, práticas e conhecimentos mobilizados por essas instituições, sobretudo no que concerne aos seres outros-que-humanos, mais especificamente nos waimahsã e os caboclos. Adotou-se como recurso metodológico, materiais bibliográficos referentes aos yepamahsã (Tukano) e trabalhos de campo desenvolvidos em ambos os coletivos em meados do ano de 2022. Desse modo, com o intuito de destacar questões inerentes ao Amazonas, tendo em vista as suas territorialidades afroindígenas, este artigo ressalta a importância de pensar as confluências e diálogos produzidos entre afrodescendentes e indígenas.Abstract Working with two different collectives in the city of Manaus, the Bahserikowi - Center of Indigenous Medicine and the Caboclo Ventania Umbanda Center, the “Afroindigenous” category emerges as a key concept to understand important elements that constitute this territory. For the empirical section of this article, I sought to focus the discussion and reflection on the wisdom, practices and knowledge mobilized by these institutions, especially with regard to beings that are other-than-humans, more specifically the Waimahsã and the Caboclos. As a methodological resource, we used bibliographic materials about the Yepamahsã (Tukano) and fieldwork carried out in both collectives in mid-2022. Thus, with the aim of highlighting issues inherent to Amazonas in view of its Afroindigenous territorialities, this article highlights the importance of the reflection regarding the confluences and dialogues produced between Afro-descendants and indigenous people.
