Abstract

Thirteen patients with von Willebrand's dis-ease and pregnancy have been described in the English literature. Four additional patients have been seen at the Mayo Clinic. Of these 17 patients, only 1 hemorrhaged during labor and 4 had postpartum hemorrhage. Three of the 4 patients with postpartum hemorrhage had low Factor VIII levels at delivery. Treatment wilh cryoprecipitate is recommended if the Factor VIII level is low at term; if the Factor VIII level is normal, no treatment seems necessary. © 1973 The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.
