The article discusses the Counting Online Usage of Networked Electronic Resources (COUNTER) Project, which brought information service vendors and librarians together to form usage metrics and the Standardized Usage Harvesting Initiative (SUSHI). The article describes how law libraries can measure patrons' use of journals, databases, and multimedia materials to obtain usage reports, and how they can make sure vendors are COUNTER compliant.
