Studies on Antidiabetic Agents. VII.1) Synthesis and Hypoglycemic Activity of 4-Oxazoleacetic Acid Derivatives

Abstract

As part of a search for new antidiabetic agents, 4-oxazolealkanoic acid derivatives (III) were synthesized and tested for hypoglycemic activity in mice. 4-Oxazoleacetic acids (IIIb) bearing a styryl or a suitable aliphatic hydrocarbon moiety at the 2-position showed potent activity.
