Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the influence of workload on the job satisfaction of the lecturers of State University of Malang and as a cause of job stress. This research is explanatory research. Employing proportionate stratified random sampling, this research is based on a sample of 176 people. The result shows that workload does not have a significant effect on the job stress. There is, however, a negative and significant influence of workload on job satisfaction. There is also a negative and significant influence of job stress on job satisfaction. Job stress does not mediate between workload and job satisfaction.
