ANALYSIS OF PATIENT WAITING TIME FOR HOSPITAL ADMISSION AND DISCHARGE PROCESS.

Abstract

Waiting time for hospital admission and discharge process is a commonproblem existing in all the hospitals, whether it is a small or a big set-up. The main objective of the study is to identify the gaps, highlightthose areas where delay can be eliminated and recommend accordingly,so that the hospital admission and discharge process can be managedsmoothly. This paper has explained both the hospital admission anddischarge process in a simple way and has tried to find out the rootcauses for the delay in discharge process. This paper concludes with alist of suggestions. The set-up of the study was Apollo Hospitals,Greams Lane, Chennai (15 th June – 14 th August, 2012).
