Attitudes of College Students on E-learning Sports Application (APP) as Correlates to Students’ Academic Achievement

Abstract

This study investigated the use of E-learning sports APP by college students in Yuncheng Vocational and Technical University to understand the ex- ercise situation of college students in school based on the change in exercise be- havior before and after using it, to recognize their exercise behavior, to be aware of the influence of E-learning sports. It also helps to strengthen the improvement plan of physical education in Chinese universities. Research method: A question- naire was designed according to the needs of this study, and this questionnaire was divided into 3 parts. Stratified random sampling - and identified 286 students, from year 1 to year 4; semi-structured interviews with teacher respondents and selected administrative staff-related questions from the study site, Yuncheng Vocational, and Technical University, with a total of 10 people. The data collected will be analyzed and data management will be performed using SPSS 27. Outcome: (1) The respondents assessed the four parameters of the study with regards to the em- ployment of sports app in teaching as agree; (2) There are no significant differ- ences in the perception of the respondents when grouped by the test variables of the study except for sports attitude and sports needs crossed with sex; (3) The av- erage score on the academic achievement of students is 83.64 which falls on the range interpreted as good; (4) Sports need is not significantly correlated with the student’s academic achievement in PE. Conclusion: (1) There is a varying need of males and females in PE making the known significant differences in the results; (2) The academic achievement of the respondents falls short of the usual norm; (3) Sports app is necessary for harnessing the academic achievement of the students; (4) E-learning sports APP is a potential tool in teaching PE and as e-learning fa- cility.
