Abstract
The aduncum has shown great commercial interest due to the content of dilapiolle present in the essential oil extracted from the aerial part , for this, the species has been studied and submitted to selections of material for breeding . Depending on the geographical distribution and adaptive capacity , presents great variability in production, including fresh and dry biomass . The aim of this study was to evaluate the yield and oil content in dilapiolle air , fresh and dry biomass in populations of P. aduncum . The performance data and content dilapiolle were subjected to analysis of variance , with comparison of means and linear correlation. Afterwards , discriminant analysis was used for the verification of population groups . The results showed that the yield of essential oil was higher for dry biomass and dilapiolle content did not vary as a function of biomass for populations 207 , 208 and 209 , which showed potential for selection for the breeding program of the species , in order to essential oil extraction in green biomass .
