Abstract
This paper presents the development and implementation of an IoT system based on LoRaWAN to monitor the distribution and quality of irrigation water in the rural region of San Camilo, Arequipa, Peru. The system, operating at 915 MHz, integrates pH, electrical conductivity, TDS, turbidity and flow sensors connected to ESP32 microcontrollers with LoRaWAN modules. Using ThingSpeak for real-time data display, the system achieved reliable communication up to 3 km in open areas, with a transmission success rate of 98.5%. The results show an 8% improvement in water use efficiency and a 15% reduction in crop water quality problems, demonstrating the potential of this technology to improve water resource management in rural agriculture.
