El caso del Colectivo 82. Una historia entre la memoria y el olvido, la rebelión y la represión

Abstract

The article discusses the Colombian repressive model’s transition from State repression to paramilitarism at the beginning of the 1980s. From then on, counterinsurgent social disciplining was carried out by mixed structures (State and private) that left visible marks on the history, the memory, and the oversights of society. Over time, those marks became more elaborate and shaped the paramilitary model, which is formally autonomous but defends the statu quo. The object of analysis of this transition in the repressive model is the 1982 detention, torture, and execution of fourteen young students and social leaders from Bogotá and Cundinamarca (Collective 82), accused of kidnapping and murdering the three children of a well-known Bogotá drug trafficker, Jáder Álvarez.
