This study analyzes the effect of dollar exchange rate, inflation and BI 7DRR on the collection of zakat in central Baznas relating to the problem of poverty in Indonesia. This study contributes to the development of Islamic philanthropic institutions and their role as mediators in order to distribute zakat among society. This is also using a quantitative approach with Ordinary Least Square (OLS) data analysis thecniques and multiple linier regression analysis tools using time series of sample data taken from January 2015-December 2018 period from those variables. The results showed that the dollar exchange rate and BI 7DRR partially and significantly influenced the zakat collection while the inflation rate had no significant effect on zakat. A simultanenous testing stated that the variable of inflation, dollar exchange rate and BI 7DRR significantly influenced the zakat collection in Indonesia. This article contributes to illustrate the importance of zakat for the maslahah as benefit of the people so that the influence of macroeconomic variables either have good or negative impact on the collection of zakat. Integration between the policymakers, industrial workers and consumers in achieving the maslahah of people in order of giving alms to an Islamic philanthropic institution can be distributed for those who in need.
