Abstract

The purpose of this essay is to discuss with contrasted data the two main statements that, in the opinion of the authors, articulate the book in question, that is, the alleged fraud that decisively favored the electoral victory of the Popular Front and obtaining its absolute majority, and the systematic use of collective violence to achieve that goal, facilitated by the resignation of Portela Valladares. Finally, the weight of an attempted coup d’état in the decisions of Portela, a factor that is practically absent from this work, is also discussed.
