Abstract

In this paper, a linear color correction method for tongue images under natural light condition is proposed. Firstly, it converts the color image which was taken under non-standard illumination conditions into a standard one and reduces the external factors, such as the illumination incident or the device incident, in luminosity space to make image linearization approximately. Secondly, a color correction based on Topology-Resolve-Map algorithm on the tongue image must be done in the approximate linear space to guarantee the accuracy and stability of the tongue diagnosis. Finally, the performance of this method is detected by CIEDE2000 color difference formula. The experiment results shows that the proposed method can achieve better effect, get a stable performance, do not depend on the equipment, increase processing speed. © 2012 Springer-Verlag.
