Abstract
Ablation of either of the two cortical projection areas of the mediodorsal thalamic nucleus, as well as lesions in the region of the neostriatum associated with the anteromedial cortex, failed to interfere with formation of taste aversion in rats. The prefrontal cortex and the ablated part of the neostriatum in rats are not necessary for association of external and visceral cues or for modification of behavior on the basis of such association. © 1975, Psychonomic Society, Inc..
