Abstract

These work studies the architectural project for a building planned in the 1970s for Zamo-ra, and whose singularity lies in its being con-sidered as an outline of brutalist architecture in provinces. Our aim is not to vindicate the nursing home of Zamora as reference point or paradigm of Spanish brutalist architecture, but tu approach the reception of brutalist architecture in the provinces. Particulary when these architectural style buildings in Spain were generally built in the most important urban centres or those with the greatest political, eco-nomic or cultural significance. We attempt to bring the characteristics of this building closer to the general lines of this style, for which we analyze its design process and the circumstan-ces in which it was produced.
