Abstract

successful surgical pulmonary embolectomy in a second trimester parturient with heparin-induced thrombocytopenia (HIT) [1]. The outcome was excellent as pulmonary embolism (PE) is the leading cause of pregnancy-related maternal death in the developed world [2]. © 2010 by European Association for Cardio-thoracic Surgery.
