Abstract

To solve the problem of aggregation and deposition of carbonyl iron (CI) for magnetorheological (MR) liquids, polymer -coated composite magnetic particles (CIPMMA) were synthesized through dispersion polymerization method using CI dispersion in methyl methacrylate monomer, and then adopt the product as MR liquid phase dispersed. Notably, to improve the mechanical properties of poly-coated (methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) into CI microspheres, the cross-linking method was adopted in this study. The flow and viscoelastic properties of MR fluids were analyzed through a rotating rotometer equipped with a magnetic field supplier using a parallel plate measurement system
