Abstract

With the development of local helioseismology, such as the time-distance technique, investigation of meridional flow and differential rotation in the solar convection zone has become possible. I summarize recent observational results, and review theoretical considerations of meridional circulation in relation to differential rotation, which is now well unveiled in the solar convection zone by helioseismology. © 2007 WILEY-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co.
