Abstract
Explanations of skilled migration have followed their own research path, relatively distanced fromthe theoretical explanations of migration in general, without producing a dialogue and reproducing categories, concepts, and assumptions that replicate gender stereotypes without discussing them sufficiently. Based on the examination of empirical evidence from the case of skilled migrants in the North American region -specifically, Mexico and the United States-, this article proposes to present information that contributes to the proposed premise.
