COVID-19 pandemic – A social medicine consideration

Abstract

Social medicine, as a clinical-theoretical subject, combines knowledge and methods from medicine and social sciences, also in relation to the COVID pandemic. In outpatient and inpatient care facilities of applied social medicine, doctors and representatives of psychosocial professions are active in the prevention and epidemiology of pandemics. Tracking contacts is a central task of the health authorities. A prerequisite for successful prevention is educating the population about the risks and possibilities of preventing a Covid 19 disease as well as trust in the work of the responsible institutions.
