Abstract

(15α,20R)-Dihydroxypregn-4-en-3-one 6'-O-acetyl-20-β-cellobioside (1) and matairesinol 4'-O-β-D-apiofuranosyl(1 → 2)-β-D-glucopyranoside (2) were isolated from safflower (Carthamus tinctorius L.) oil cake. The structures were confirmed by spectroscopic methods and X-ray crystal structure analysis. The 1H- and 13C-NMR signals of (15α,20R)- dihydroxypregn-4-en-3-one (1a) were assigned.
